Her proposed major field of study would be in Early Childhood Education. She would like to specialize in working with children, especially in the areas of early identification, assessment and teaching pedagogy. The most crucial period of development in children is between 0 years to 7 years when the human brain is very sensitive to learning. Early Childhood Education for children between the ages of 3 years to 6years is not recognized in Papua New Guinea and is not emphasized by the National Department of Education as well as the Provincial Education Department even though there is a policy passed by the Government of Papua New Guinea in 2009 about Early Childhood Care and Development in Papua New Guinea. There is a great need for Research in this particular area to evaluate the implementation of the policy in the country at the moment and make recommendations for further development in this particular area.
