DWU to host national debate on capital or corporal punishment

Divine Word University is staging a “national debate” on capital and corporal punishment from the 8th to 10th August, 2013.

The University is inviting interested speakers to debate the issue by posing the question: “Is Capital or Corporal Punishment the answer to law and order challenges in PNG?”

The DWU has invited speakers through paid advertisements placed in the two national daily newspapers, Post Courier and The National.

“This event (debate) provides an avenue to explore and debate issues relating to increasing law and order problems in the country, and if capital or corporal punishment will get us the results we want,” the DWU statement reads.
