More infrastructure development

President of Divine Word University, Fr Jan Czuba has announced that the university will upgrade student accommodation and build new lecture facilities this year.

Fr Czuba said this was part of the commitment of DWU to continue to improve physical infrastructure and services in the University to meet the standards of the 21st century.

He made the announcement in his speech at the opening of the DWU academic year at the Madang campus on Friday 13th February, 2015.

“We are committed to reviewing the quality of our physical infrastructure and this year, we will redevelop student dormitories and construct new lecture facilities to cater directly for the needs of the 21st-century student,” said Fr Czuba.

“This investment will provide you with a well-equipped, contemporary academic environment in which the university community can study, learn, research, network and relax,” the President told the students.

Currently, a new double-storey academic office for the faculties is nearing completion while construction is starting on a bigger supermarket that will replace the existing DiwaiMart mini supermarket. A new eight-bed health clinic for the University was completed recently and would be opened soon.
