Professor Deane Arganbright taught at Divine Word University for two years in the Mathematics and Computing Science department. Professor Arganbright was made Emeritus Professor by the University for his distinguished services to mathematics and computer education in Papua New Guinea. Before departing Professor Arganbright set up the online learning for the Mathematics and Computing Science students so he could teach his units from the United States using Skype. This method of teaching was the first of its kind for the country and the students were privileged to be part of this program.

Professor Agranbright has also taught in other institutions in the country for a total of eleven years where nine years were spent at the University of Papua New Guinea. He is a pioneer in the use of spreadsheets in mathematics, with work beginning using VisiCalc in 1982. His interests and research include the use of computers - especially spreadsheets - in mathematics, mathematical modeling, and mathematics education.
