Dr Paul Pasingan graduted in 2011 from the University with his PhD degree. He currently serves as the Vice President Rabaul campus. Dr Pasingan is an academic member of Divine Word University with  extensive experience in teaching and teacher training in the PNG education  system. He has 13 years of practical teaching and head of department experience  in PNG secondary institutions, along with three years working in head of department positions in primary teacher colleges. His academic activities have involved his participation in curriculum development and writers’ workshops with the Curriculum Development Division (CDD). He is currently completing a PhD exploring leadership issues in delivery of education to rural and remote areas of Papua New Guinea.

Experience

2012 – DWU Vice President of Rabaul Campus;

Twelve years as a University lecturer, Faculty of Education –teaching and coordinating undergraduate and in-service programs (2001-2012)

Three years as university registrar (2001-2003)

Four years of teaching at Primary Teachers Colleges, Four years as head of strand (1997-2000)

Twelve years of teaching in secondary schools, two years deputy principal (1982-1996)

 

Research experience

Research interests include topics in: Educational leadership, school leadership, educational policies, education reform, teaching and learning, ICT and education in PNG

PATTAF Short Term Training (STT) Impact Study as coordinator and data collector to assess the impact of short term training that was delivered in-country in 2003, 2004.

Coordinator and data collector ‘CRIP Impact Study 5’ to assess the impact of delivery of reform curriculum materials, November-February, 2003-2004

Social Impact Monitoring System (SIMS) covering impact analysis on higher education. Madang, 1997-1998.
