Electronic Media Training Facility

Students use the latest recording equipment to produce radio programmes as required by the course content. Located in a cool, safe environment, students can work in comfort and with maximum output. Students are encouraged to produce programmes in English and Tok Pisin as this medium reaches some of PNG's most remote areas.

TELEVISION

Television is a growing medium in PNG, the TV facilities in the CA department is of high standards and thus an emphasis is placed on high quality production by students. They are able to use Final Cut Pro to edit image and sound, as well as other features provided by Macintosh. With a proper audio/visual library and filming equipment, students are trained to meet the standards of international television production

CA REFERENCE ROOM

The reference room is a unique feature of the department as it contains a collection of literature relevant for media studies. Located inside the office, it's a cool and quiet place to do research and or read of pleasure.

Computer Lab

The CA students use the Arts Faculty lab along with students from PNG Studies and Religious Studies. The lab has new computers and can now cater for the growing number of students. Each student is issued with a memory stick upon arrival.

Library Facility

The Friendship Library has an adequate collection of literature relevant to media studies. It boasts a unique "Nooser" library, which has a fine collection of PNG materials. The library also houses the Internet cafe, where students can get on-line. The university recently launch an electronic research facility, which enables students to conduct research on line. The facility also includes a high-tech scanner and students’ intranet facility – allowing each student to have an email account with DWU. The account is accessible anywhere in the world.
