There is a six-week work experience requirement at the end of the first year, so that students gain experience in finding a job and in being responsible to their professional role in the workplace. This work experience is evaluated on the basis of logbooks, which are kept under the scrutiny of on-the-job supervisors, and reviewed by teachers, and class work on return to classes in the following year. Opportunities for significant conferences or for block units that become possible in Madang are also taken as they arise
