Partners with DWU
Divine Word University is one of Papua New Guinea's newest and most exciting universities. We are a Christian University which welcomes all, regardless of their race, creed or gender. We are training some of the future leaders of our country and we are committed to the success of all our students. We are constantly working to improve the university and are continually striving to provide an excellent education for all our students.
DWU was established by the Society of the Divine Word and incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1980. We were declared a University in 1996. We are a national institution accredited by the PNG Government.
We have grown and succeeded through the generous support of enlightened people in PNG and the international community.
DWU receives no direct recurrent support from the PNG government, and as a result our boarding and tuition fees amounting to many thousands of kina per year are met by the students. Students obtain assistance from several sources including the government scholarship TESAS (which covers less than half their annual fee), employers, parents and relatives. Students also undertake personal fund-raising.
The majority of students receive a Divine Word University scholarship, amounting to at least half the course fee, to subsidise their education.
The following list of organisations and individuals are those who have made contributions to the growth of the University. If you wish to become a partner in PNG's development by supporting Divine Word University's students and programs please feel free to contact us.
