Diploma in Teaching (TQUP)
Overview
The Diploma in Teaching is a one-year flexible learning teacher qualification upgrading programs (TQUP) that is designed to provide teacher training to people who are teaching in schools, but lack a teaching qualification. However, these people have certificate or diploma qualifications in other fields. Three-week residential sessions to start each semester are conducted each semester. An applicant who is not teaching in a school will need to negotiate access to a school for professional practice experiences.
Location:
Available in various centres as warranted by the number of applicants, e.g. Madang, Wewak, Port Moresby and Rabaul.
Admission
People with a post-secondary Certificate or Diploma qualification in a field other than education are eligible to enrol in the Diploma in Teaching program. Many participants in previous DipT programs had trade qualifications and were teaching in technical or vocational schools. Application should be made by contacting the Enrolment Officer, Faculty of Flexible Learning, Divine Word University.

Achievement of 80 credit points
