Advanced Diploma in Emergency Medicine
Overview
The Advanced Diploma in Emergency Medicine is a two-year flexible learning program that is designed for health extension officers, nurses and doctors who wish to enrich their working knowledge and skills in order to become highly successful health workers in the service of their country in the diagnosis stabilization, treatments and or referral of patients.
It prepares participants competencies to manage a range of emergency medical situations the may occur in Papua New Guinea. The program covers the management of trauma, and paediatric emergencies, medical emergencies, obstetrics, gynaecology and psychiatric emergencies/ One-week intensive residential programs begin each semester, followed by studies and practical activities in distance education mode.

Applicants are required to be employed, have completed a minimum of a Diploma in General Nursing or Health Extension and must be recommended by a sponsoring organization. Enquiries and application should be made by contacting the Enrolment Officer, Faculty of Flexible Learning, Madang.
