Students stage successful Cultural Day
Students of Divine Word University in Madang hosted yet another successful Cultural Day with students from all provinces taking part on Saturday 22 August, 2009.
The students took time out from their studies and returned to their indigenous roots for a day in body decoration, song and dance.
The Cultural Day is a time set aside by the DWU every year for the students to take part in cultural activities and acknowledge their indigenous roots and value them.
The 2009 festival was described as the best yet with all the provincial groups putting highly improved performances.
Many student groups, particularly those from nearby provinces connected by road and easy access by sea had the benefit of their relatives bringing their traditional bilas (dress and decoration) and assist them to perform. Ends/
