The 27th Australia-Papua New Guinea Business Forum and Trade Expo held at the Divine Word University (DWU), Madang campus has left a positive impression upon the students that attended.

Selected students who sat through the proceedings of the forum said that it enabled them to gauge perspectives from different company representatives about business development and challenges both in Australia and PNG.

Business Studies student, Monica Kupo said that the university was privileged to be the second time host to the premier gathering that has benefitted the students.

“It turned out to be like a lecture on investment challenges and how to amicably deal with issues especially when it comes to resource ownership.”

“I am thankful to the organizing committee for giving the opportunity to students like myself,” said Kupo.
Students were also fascinated by the displays at the Trade Expo at the booths set up by over 19 various major goods and service providers.

Caroline Frank, a final year tourism and hospitality management student said: “It’s a rare experience to have some of these major companies mostly based outside Madang.

“We get the opportunity to meet respective company representatives and speak with them. We never know. Some of them could be our future employers,” Frank said.

The forum was held at the SVD Memorial Auditorium while the Trade Expo took place at the Postgraduate Research Centre.
