Welcome to Divine Word University
Welcome to DWU Academic Community. We are pleased that you have taken a moment to visit our website. Thus, on behalf of the University Council, staff and students, I thank you for visiting our website. It is a great place to start your journey to learn more about us.
Divine Word University (DWU) is a National University, open to all, serving the society through its quality of research, teaching, learning and community service. To achieve our vision, we have developed links with the world's leading universities, industry and business, and work closely with the Papua New Guinea Government, Churches and NGOs.
DWU is a vibrant, innovative, forward-thinking international community of scholars and students who share their culture, skills and knowledge. We have campuses in Port Moresby, Madang, Mt. Hagen, Wewak and in the near future, we will have two campuses in Rabaul to serve the people of the Islands region, Bougainville, and Solomon Islands. The University is extending its services to the people in the South Pacific. We teach in Bougainville, Solomon Islands and Nauru. The University creates a holistic educational environment for its students to ensure a unique and life-changing student experience.
DWU is established by an Act of Parliament and declared by PNG Government as an Agency of Higher Education through affiliation and amalgamation processes in the country. By affiliation, DWU assists other educational institutions to upgrade the quality of academic programs being offered and provides the opportunity for dialogue, professional development of the staff and enrich the learning and teaching resources of the affiliated institution. A number of teaching and nursing colleges have affiliation agreement with the University leading towards amalgamation to the University.
