Mrs. Rose Kamaga Begani

Rose Begani is a qualified Environmental Health Officer who has served as an EHO in various health agencies in PNG. Prior to taking up teaching duties she served as an EHO and Quarantine Officer in Kiunga and Daru from 1992 to 1995. She was attached with the Nimamar Development Authority in Lihir as an EHO from 1998 to 2000. In 2002 Rose favorably joined the former college of Allied health sciences as a Tutor in environmental health studies until the amalgamation of the college with DWU in 2006 when Rose and her colleagues transferred to be part of the academic staff of DWU.
She was instrumental and played a significant role in the development of the Program Specification Document (PSD) for the Bachelor of Environmental Health. She has also played a key role in the review of the BEH curriculum apart from teaching and research supervision for under graduate students in the department. Rose’s notable achievements include the publication of research articles in international Journals-Scientific Research Publishing around the subjects of methyl mercury toxicity and titanium dioxide. She has also published a number of articles in the DWU contemporary research journal.
