New DWU dormitories to open soon

male dormDivine Word University (DWU) will achieve another milestone with the opening of five new dormitories for its students at the main campus in Madang on 29th September, 2012.
The five double storey dormitories – three for female students and two for male students – were funded by the Australian government’s Australia PNG Incentive Fund.

The Australia PNG Incentive Fund provided K8.3 million for the construction of the five buildings.

The new dormitories will provide accommodation space for 78 full time under-graduate students.

The guest of honour for the opening ceremony is yet to be confirmed.

This is the second time that the PNG Incentive Fund has supported DWU in building vital infrastructure.

The first Australia PNG Incentive Fund assistance 10 years ago enabled the University to construct the Friendship Library and its adjoining Sir Peter Barter Auditorium, Diwai Post office and lecture rooms and the SVD Memorial Auditorium. Besides serving the University’s needs, these facilities are open for use by the wider public.
