Diploma in Project Management

Aim

The Diploma in Project Management (DipPM) program introduces and equips students with basic project management knowledge, skills, techniques and tools available to organizations in contemporary public or business environments. Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals.

The DipPM program is offered in flexible learning mode. Students take two units a semester and complete the program in two years. Students are required to participate in a two-week residential component each semester. Students usually have their own personal laptop.

Each of the 8 units has a fifteen credit point value and students are required to gain 120 credit points to be eligible to graduate with the award.

Diploma in Justice Administration

Aim

The aim of the program is to expose the students to the legislative and administrative processes involved in the provision of justice services and significantly provide a practical insight into the application of those laws and the administrative processes. This will enable the student to relate well to the law, institutions and individuals when involved in actual justice service delivery. For example, knowing how to draft a Pre-sentence Report and presenting it to the Courts.

Bachelor of Public Administration

Aim

The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPAdmin) program is ideal for executives in the public service as it can standardize knowledge base and enhance better approaches to service delivery to urban and rural populations in Papua New Guinea.

The purpose of this program is to provide a strategic framework designed to guide workforce training and development activities for the PNG Public Sector in support of Vision 2050 and the development of a strategic plan. From the pillars upon which the developmental vision is situated, this program addresses three of the government’s significant components. These components include empowerment of the people, effective and equitable delivery of services and making certain of a skilled and well-resourced public servant work force.
