Summary

Mary T Akis is a qualified Nursing office specialist in Pediatric Nursing and is registered with the PNG Nursing Council. She joined the St Mary’s School of Nursing’s teaching Staff in 1997.She is currently designated as senior tutor in the Nursing Department of DWU. Before taking up teaching at Vunapope School of Nursing, she was employed by the National Department of Health’s Human Resource Department designated as clinical supervisor for the Pediatric Nursing Program. Prior to that she was employed by the Port Moresby General Hospital and Angau Memorial hospital as a Nurse manager in the acute and non-acute sections of the Pediatric outpatient and the wards.
She has also worked in the Primary Health sector of good number of years.
