DWU Wewak SRC Leaders Trained for Service
Recently, 22 newly elected Student Representative Council (SRC) leaders from Divine Word University's St. Benedict's Campus in Wewak successfully completed a two-day leadership training aimed at strengthening their capacity to serve and lead their fellow students. The training focused on self-awareness, leadership responsibilities, communication, pastoral care, the SRC Constitution, and planning meaningful student activities.
Facilitated by Mrs. Evelyn Tekepa, Student Service Director from DWU Madang Campus, and supported by Fr. Herman Kunow SVD, Ms. Dominica Kaikue, and Mr. Primus Malawi, the program provided practical leadership insights, group discussions, team-building exercises, and planning sessions designed to empower the newly elected leaders.
Participants also engaged in activities that highlighted the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and servant leadership. The training concluded with the presentation of certificates by Campus Administrator Mr. Peter Paul Kaiyeke, recognizing the commitment and active participation of all SRC members.
A heartfelt thank you to all facilitators, organizers, and supporters whose contributions made the training a success. We look forward to seeing these young leaders serve their campus with integrity, dedication, and a spirit of excellence guided by DWU's Core Values.
