DWU Signs MOU with DICT

Divine Word University, represented by President Professor Fr. Philip Gibbs and DWU Dean of the Faculty of Business & Informatics, Dr Fiona N'Drower, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) during a ceremony held in Port Moresby recently.

Through this partnership, DWU is committed to modernising its institutional systems and advancing towards a Digital Public Infrastructure Centre of Excellence model. This initiative aims to strengthen administrative efficiency, promote academic integrity, enhance student service delivery, and improve digital governance across the University.

The SevisPNG Ecosystem, which includes digital identity credentials, digital wallet infrastructure, and secure data exchange mechanisms, will provide the foundational framework for trusted digital services across public institutions.

As part of the MOU, DWU will establish a Joint Steering Committee and a dedicated Project Implementation Team under its ICT Division. The University will also maintain compliance with data protection and governance requirements while facilitating student and academic participation in relevant research, innovation, and digital transformation programs.
