DWU Wewak Mobilises 600+ for Cleanathon

Recently, Divine Word University, St. Benedicts Campus in Wewak hosted a major cleanathon, bringing together more than 600 participants from the university and the wider community.
The participants included staff, their spouses and children, students, Callan members, and Divine Word University (DWU) alumni, all of whom took part in the community initiative aimed at promoting a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.
The cleanathon covered several locations across Wewak, including Wewak Town, Dagua, Kaltex, and Meni Beach. The activity reflected DWU's commitment to community service, environmental stewardship, and responsible citizenship.

The cleanathon was one of the key activities organised as part of the celebrations marking the 30th Anniversary of St. Benedict’s Campus, Wewak, which will be held from 14 to 16 September 2026. It brought together staff, students, families, alumni, and members of the wider DWU community in a spirit of unity, service, and celebration.
The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation demonstrated the university community's shared commitment to making a positive impact on the environment while strengthening community ties through volunteerism and collective action.
