Bachelor of Communication Arts (Journalism)
The Bachelor of Communication Arts (Journalism) program aims to enable interested students in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific to enhance their professional communication skills through mainstream journalism, investigative reporting, social science research, public relations (PR), and participating in development issues.
The program also encourages students to explore and understand the theories, concepts, frameworks, and models that define communication and development philosophies. It also helps students engage with systemic thinking and issues of power, politics, and development for social change through communication mediums. Students also do research in the fields of journalism, media, and communications.
Unique Features:
- Internships in Year 2 for students living in provinces where they have access to media organizations.
- Practical training in using video cameras to cover news.
- Training in editing and publishing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Audition.
- Learning to write news stories in Tok Pisin and translate stories into Tok Pisin.

Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have a GPA requirement of 4.0 and they should have a background in Social Science. They should have taken up Language & Literature in Grade 12. Subject combination and grade requirements for the program are as follows:

2. General Mathematics (Distinction) or Advanced Mathematics (Credit)
3. History (Distinction or Credit)
4. Geography (Distinction or Credit)
