Entry Requirements
1. School Leaver
To be eligible for admission into the program, applicants must have successfully completed the Grade 12 National Examinations with the following:
A minimum overall "B" average in the following subjects:
English Language and Literature
Social Sciences
Mathematics
Religious Studies
Personal Development
A minimum GPA of 2.8
These requirements ensure that students are academically prepared for the rigors of the program and have a solid foundation in key subject areas.
2. Non-School Leaver
Non-school leavers and applicants with relevant work experience in fields related to the program are encouraged to apply. Applicants must demonstrate at least five years of successful work in these areas. Supporting evidence must be submitted with the application, including references or recommendation letters from community leaders, pastors, or priests.
Applicants must have successfully completed the Grade 12 national examinations with an overall “B” average. Required subjects include English (Language and Literature), Social Sciences, Mathematics, Religious Studies, and Personal Development.
In accordance with DHERST policy, applicants should not have a gap of more than five years between the completion of Grade 12 (or its equivalent) and the time of application.
Special consideration may be given to applicants who hold a diploma or advanced diploma from recognized institutions such as seminaries. Prior religious training will be assessed for relevance and quality, particularly in the areas of scripture, theology, pastoral care, counselling, and psychology. Training should reflect an understanding of Church teachings on social justice and a commitment to serving within Papua New Guinea’s Churches.
