Summary Lynus. Yamuna is a qualified secondary school teacher and teacher educator. He worked as a Secondary school teacher from 1977 to 1985 and then joined what is now University of Goroka in 1987 to train secondary school teachers majoring in teaching English as a second language (TESL) After 24 years of work experiences at the University of Goroka I applied for senior lecturer position at Divine Word University Faculty of Education in 2010. I was offered a position and commenced teaching at DWU March 2011 till now. The specific professional qualification obtained are; Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University USA March 2000, MED TESOL from University of Manchester UK December 1989, Bachelor of Education; In-service from University of Papua New Guinea in December 1986. Having spent over thirty (30) years lecturing in two universities in Papua New Guinea provides me with vast professional knowledge and skills. Secondary teacher training and now in-service teacher up-grading for Primary school teachers continue to set the pace for new challenges. The supervision of Postgraduate studies for both M EDL and Ph.D. & Education Doctorate degrees are again both challenging and rewarding. The new Bachelor’s degree for Primary teachers was developed here at Divine Word University and is now being offered at St Benedicts and Kabaleo Teachers Colleges. I am now fully engaged to develop Students’ resource books for English Specialism units. As Chair of the Faculty of Education Curriculum and Assessment I led discussions on unit reviews and other related responsibilities. Research Projects: |
