Aim
The Diploma in Project Management (DipPM) program introduces and equips students with basic project management knowledge, skills, techniques and tools available to organizations in contemporary public or business environments. Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals.
The DipPM program is offered in flexible learning mode. Students take two units a semester and complete the program in two years. Students are required to participate in a two-week residential component each semester. Students usually have their own personal laptop.

Each of the 8 units has a fifteen credit point value and students are required to gain 120 credit points to be eligible to graduate with the award.
Purpose
A project may be defined as a temporary endeavour with a defined beginning and end (usually time-constrained, and often constrained by funding or deliverables), undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives, typically to bring about beneficial change or added value. Based on internationally recognized project management theories and best practices, the DipPM program is designed to train and develop competent project managers in both the public and private sectors of Papua New Guinea.
