Summary

I have vast experience in Papua New Guinea’s Media/Communications Industry particularly in Broadcast Journalism, which I gained through my employment with the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) for nearly 20 years. During my tenure with NBC I worked as junior officer, moving up ranks to Head of Rounds for Health/Education and other sectors, for the daily coverage of news and current affairs programs. I also covered Parliamentary Sittings, General Elections, Industrial Strikes, Court Hearings, Elections of Governor Generals and Disasters among others. I was later promoted to Sub Editor at the NBC National Newsroom, taking charge of the daily news bulletins aired by NBC and its provincial stations. In my course of duty, I travelled to various provinces and countries for coverage of both national and international events like Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings, State Visits, South Pacific Arts Festival among others. In the latter part of my career with the National Broadcaster, I served as a senior journalist for NBC West Sepik in Vanimo before bowing out of the organization in December 2014.

I also attained some public relations skills, knowledge and experience whilst working for the PNG Defence Department soon after graduating from the Communication Arts Department of Divine Word Institute in 1994.
